Cooking Instructions
- 1
Shred the shiso leaves finely, and soak in a bowl of water.
- 2
Mix the tightly squeezed shredded shiso and toasted white sesame seeds into freshly cooked rice.
- 3
Divide the rice into 6 portions and form into balls. Huh? You see 8 in the photo? Hahahaha...
- 4
I used sliced pork belly today.
- 5
Wrap the rice ball with a piece of sliced pork lengthwise...
- 6
Wrap 2 pieces of pork around the rice balls horizontally. Use as many slices as you want.
- 7
See, I made 6 of them! Not 8!
- 8
Cook them in a skillet starting with the seam sides down.
- 9
Once it is browned, turn them over.
- 10
Stand them up and cook on the sides also.
- 11
Once all sides are cooked...
- 12
Down with extra oil! Wipe off the excess oil with paper towels.
- 13
Add the ○ ingredients. They'll be sizzling hot! Be careful not to burn yourself!
- 14
Simmer, simmer!
- 15
Do not scorch them!
- 16
This sauce is so tasty!
- 17
Sprinkled with white sesame seeds! They look delicious, don't they?

Meat Wrapped Onigiri Rice Balls using Shabu-Shabu Pork Slices Meat Wrapped Onigiri Rice Balls using Shabu-Shabu Pork Slices
I wanted to make hearty and filling onigiri that would be satisfying even when there aren't a lot of side dishes in the bento box.If you roll the meat wrapped rice balls around while the meat is uncooked it will fall off, so cook it one section at a time. When all sides are browned, it's ok to roll them around. If you clean the frying pan with paper towels once the meat is cooked before adding the flavoring ingredients, the rice balls won't burn so easily. Recipe by ss mama cookpad.japan -

Tasty Grilled Onigiri (Rice Balls) No. 7 Tasty Grilled Onigiri (Rice Balls) No. 7
I wanted to contribute my children's favorite grilled onigiri to the Tasty Onigiri series.Firmly shape the onigiri otherwise they will break apart when flipped over.Be sparing with the vegetable oil, or else it will taste oily.If the onigiri falls apart when flipping them over, just break them up and serve them with gochujang. That way, you can make them pass as Korean-style bibimbap. Spiral Onigiri Rice Balls Spiral Onigiri Rice Balls
On a day when I was planning to make onigiri, I cut my hand with a vegetable slicer.Since I couldn't touch the rice with my hands, I decided to roll the ingredients and it was surprisingly good.-A tip is to roll tightly. If it's loose, the rice and ingredients will spill out when slicing.-Salt the rice well. Taste before rolling.-Another tip is to wet the knife after each slice to guarantee a clean cut. I succeeded in making soy sauce malt (See, so this recipe is the result of the next stage of my challenge, using shoyu-koji (soy sauce malt). It's so easy and tasty, so I posted it here. The parchment paper keeps the balls from sticking to the frying pan, and allows them to brown evenly. If you don't like shiso (like my kids), substitute with minced scallions--this version is also tasty. Recipe by Guutara recipe kenkyujo cookpad.japan -

Granny's Round Onigiri Rice Balls Granny's Round Onigiri Rice Balls
When I was a child, my grandmother used to make this onigiri with her big hands. She used to spread out shredded nori on top of newspaper and roll the onigiri around... This is my favorite onigiri with lots of memories. Because you use shredded nori, the nori won't break apart, thus making it easier to eat. It's safe for your children that way.Use your favorite fillings. Adjust the size to your liking. It's easier to coat with nori if it's very round, but you can also adjust that too. If you work on plastic wrap, it will get all sticky, so use parchment paper. For 2 servings. Recipe by Mikki-an cookpad.japan -
