Ingredients

  • 10jumbo green beans
  • 1 tablespoonall-purpose flour (about 8 grams)
  • 3/4 cuptempura batter mix (about 100 grams)
  • packageCold water, as directed on tempura batter mix
  • Vegetable oil, as needed for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    If the jumbo green beans have strings, remove them and rinse the beans with water. Usually, you don't need to remove the strings.

  2. 2

    Pat the beans dry and lightly coat them with all-purpose flour.

  3. 3

    Lightly mix the tempura batter mix with cold water as directed. Dip the floured beans into the batter, then fry in oil heated to 340°F (170°C).
