While living in Singapore, there was a very famous chicken rice shop nearby that I often visited. This Singapore-style chicken rice is easy to make in a rice cooker without any mistakes.

Cooking Instructions

Poke holes in the chicken skin with a fork and rub black salt or regular salt into the skin. In the rice cooker pot, add the rinsed rice, ☆ ingredients, and water up to the 3-cup line.

Place the chicken on top of the rice with the skin side down (make sure the chicken pieces do not overlap) and start the regular cooking cycle. While the rice is cooking, mix the ★ ingredients for the sauce.

Once the rice is done, immediately remove the chicken and cut it into pieces. Serve the rice and chicken on a plate and pour the ★ sauce over it. Enjoy with cucumber and cilantro on the side.
