Ingredients

Serves 2 servings
  • 2 leavescabbage
  • 1green bell pepper
  • 1/3carrot
  • 1/4onion
  • 1/2 bagbean sprouts
  • 4 stalksgarlic chives (nira)
  • 2 tablespoonscorn
  • 4 sliceskamaboko (fish cake)
  • 3 slicespork
  • as neededvegetable oil
  • For marinating the meat
  • 1 teaspoonshio koji (or soy sauce if unavailable)
  • 1 teaspoonsake
  • Seasonings
  • 6 tablespoons (90 ml)water
  • 1 teaspoonsoy sauce
  • 1 teaspoonoyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoonsugar
  • 1 teaspoonChinese soup base (such as S&B Shantan or Weipa)
  • 1 teaspoonJapanese soup stock granules (dashi)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a fewshakes MSG (such as Ajinomoto)

Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the ingredients. Cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

    Marinate the pork with sake and shio koji (or soy sauce if unavailable), then coat with potato starch.

    Mix the seasonings together in advance.

  4. 4

    Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the pork and stir-fry. From here on, keep the heat high and work quickly!

    When the pork changes color, add the carrot and onion.

    Next, add the cabbage and bell pepper.

    Then add the kamaboko, corn, bean sprouts, and garlic chives.

    Pour in the mixed seasonings and stir-fry quickly. Season with salt, pepper, and a few shakes of MSG if desired.

    Serve on a plate and enjoy!
