For example: If using 1 cup (about 200 grams) of rice, use 5 cups (about 1000 ml) of water.
Rinse the rice and drain well. Add the rice and 5 times as much water to a pot.

Bring to a boil over high heat.

Stir, then reduce to low heat. Simmer for 7–12 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your stove.

Let it sit covered for a while, then it's ready to serve.
