Tips
*There are 2 ways to use a Tatung rice cooker, which affect the texture:
1. Use it like an electric rice cooker, without adding water to the outer pot.
2. Add 1 cup of water to the outer pot and steam-bake. Once it switches off, let it sit to finish cooking.
(Note: The rice cooker is designed to have water in the outer pot, so using the first method might be improper!)
*The heat and timing for each brand of rice cooker or electric cooker may vary. The total time is about 40-50 minutes.

Steps
- 1
Melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
- 2
Let the butter soften at room temperature, then beat with sugar until pale.
- 3
Beat the eggs well, then add to the butter mixture in 3 parts, mixing well each time.
- 4
Pour the melted chocolate into the butter mixture and mix well. Add the sifted flour and mix until smooth.
- 5
Grease the rice cooker pot with butter and pour in the batter (you can add some walnuts or dried figs for texture).
- 6
Press the cook button (for a Tatung rice cooker, use the same method without adding water to the outer pot).
- 7
It will switch off in about 5 minutes. Wait 15 minutes, then press the cook button again. Once it switches off, let it sit for another 15 minutes before removing.
- 8
The time it takes to switch off may vary for each cooker. The total time is about 40 minutes. You can test doneness by inserting a chopstick into the cake; if it comes out clean, it's done! This was made using a 6-serving size rice cooker (apply more butter to the pot to prevent sticking).
- 9
Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar for decoration. Today, I added dried figs inside.
- 10
The texture is very moist and soft. After chilling, it becomes firmer. Super easy and delicious!
