My kids love this sambhar with sweet corn. Very healthy and tasty sambhar can be eaten with rice or idly .
Steps

Soak toor dal for sometime and then pressure cook it. Soaking will reduce the cooking time.

Peel sweet corn and pressure cook it and keep it aside.

Heat oil in saucepan.Add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chillies and hing. Allow it to splutter and then add curry leaves and fry little.

Then add diced tomatoes and cook for sometime. Once tomatoes are cooked add red chilli powder, tumeric, salt to taste.mix well and add corn pieces. Just then add tamrind juice and sambhar masala.Put some water and allow it cook, so that the corn gets cooked with all the masalas.

Then add cooked toor dal and mix well and cook till nice aroma comes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or idly.
