Ingredients

  1. 2-3fists toor dal
  2. 2tomatoes (optional)
  3. 1.5 spoonrasam powder
  4. as neededTamarind juice
  5. as neededjaggery
  6. as neededsalt
  7. 0.25 tsphing (asafoetida)
  8. leavescoriander

Cooking Instructions

    Wash toor dal.
    Soak in water for 15-20 minutes (optional)
    Cook in cooker.
    Once cooked, Pour 1 glass of water and mash with laddle to smooth consistency.

    Transfer cooked dal to a small pot. Add chopped tomato. Add tamaring juice, jaggery, rasam powder, salt and hing. Boil for 5-10 mins. Adjust quantities as per taste. If you add more tamaring juice boil it for some more time.

    (optional) Add tadka - Ghee, mustard, udad dal, dried red chilli, curry leaves.
