Biscuit Bhakhri has a crispy outer layer and soft inside made with wheat flour OR coarse wheat flour, ghee or oil, and regular spices. Bhakri is prepared differently in every Gujarati home so I share methi masal biscuit bhakhri, which is quick and easy to make. You can serve it simply with pickles or a cup of tea for dinner or snacks.
Steps
- 1
First of all sift wheat flour in a big bowl and add rava / semolina to it and mix well.
- 2
Now add salt, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander cumin powder, white sesame seeds, kasuri methi powder, oil and ghee and mix everything well by hand.
- 3
Now mix everything and knead the dough into a fist. After that add some water as required and make a stiff dough.
- 4
After that, cover the flour dough with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 5
Then again knead the dough for 1 minute by hand and make a uniform dough and cut it with a knife or fork spoon in between.
- 6
Now heat the iron tawa and put ghee in it and roast bhakris on low gas flame by applying ghee on both sides. While roasting, the bhakhri should be pressed a little with a wooden stick and should be roasted properly from all sides. So our crispy methi masala bhakhri will be ready.
- 7
Roast all the biscuits Bhakhri in this way and prepare them.
- 8
Now our Methi Masala Biscuit Bhakhri is ready for serve. Serve this biscuit bhakhri with tea, coffee, masala dahi, achar masala, any pickles or dahi tikhari. This biscuit bhakhri can be stored outside in an airtight container for 2 to 3 days.
