South Indian Chutney

In a blender, combine the grated coconut, roasted chana dal, green chilies, and salt.

Add a little water to help the blending process.

Blend to a smooth consistency, adding more water if needed

Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.

Heat oil in a small pan

Add urad dal and fry until it turns golden brown.

Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Add the curry leaves, and hing and fry for a few seconds.

Pour the tempering over the prepared coconut chutney and cover immediately to lock fragrance.

Mix well and serve immediately with idli, dosa, vada, or any South Indian dish of your choice.
