Oat bread
Using oat for porridge is normal but for bread, it was my first time to creat a llitle bit healthier bread/cake.
I used Chia seeds but it is optional
Steps
- 1
Optional: 1-2 hours before baking, mix the chia seeds with yoghurt and 20-30 ml water. Let the chia seeds steep in liquid.
- 2
In a baking bowl, crack the eggs. And add the sugar. Mix it well.
Add the vegetable oil and yoghurt mixtures.
If you don't use chia seeds, just mix in the plain yoghurt. - 3
Add the dried ingredients: flour, oats, raisin, baking powder, baking soda, salt into the mixture.
- 4
Whisk all the ingredients until the batter is homogenized
- 5
Pour the batter into the baking tin. I used the normal glass baking form (20x14x7cm).
- 6
Bake it in the oven with temperature of 170°C for 35-40 minutes. Use stick test if you are not sure.
- 7
Remove it out of the oven.
I used to switch off the oven and let the bread sit inside for 5 minutes.
Cool it down. - 8
Slice and serve it as your wish.
The bread is good chewy and crumbly.
