Gently heat the butter, sugar and syrup together in a pan until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
Add in the fruit,oats and flour. Stir well to ensure that the oats are completely coated.

Grease and line a cake tin (with baking paper or foil tin. Spoon the mixture into the tin and press it down.
Bake at 180° for 20-25 minutes until the flapjack starts to brown and the centre is still springy.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the tin. Peel off the paper and cut into squares using a sharp knife while still warm, then leave to cool completely.

#Tips
1- you can vary the fruit however you like but chop larger pieces of fruit. You can even add crushed hazelnuts, walnuts,peanuts dried cranberry or cherries into the mixture too.
2- any type of sugar can be used for flapjack.
3- To cut the flapjack while it is still warm use a really sharp knife works best.
