Ingredients

  1. 1 cupmasoor dal
  2. 2 tbspmustard oil
  3. 1 tsppanch phoron
  4. 2bay leaves
  5. 2-3dry red chillies
  6. 1 tbspgrated ginger
  7. 1sliced onion
  8. 1chopped tomato
  9. 2 tbspchopped coriander leaves
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  11. Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

    Wash the masoor dal nicely and soak with water for 10 minutes. Take pressure cooker add masoor dal, water, salt, turmeric powder and cook till 2 whistles. Keep aside for release pressure.

    Heat mustard oil add panch Phoron, bay leaves, red chilli and saute few seconds then add sliced onion, grated ginger, and cook some times, then add chopped tomato and cook.

    Now add cooked dal and boil it on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and cook 2-3 minutes or till desire consistency then turn off the flame. Dal is ready.

    Panch phoron masoor dal is ready to serve.
