Pecan Pie

This was my great aunts recipe from Louisiana. Its been at our Thanksgiving dinner for generations. It’s the best pecan pie I have ever put in my mouth. It’s very simple and the oven does all the work.

Preheat oven to 350. In a bowl, combine beaten eggs and 1 cup of sugar, beat well. Add 1 cup of Karo syrup, vanilla, salt and beat. Add butter and beat. Add pecans and stir them in with a spoon.

I used store bought crusts but you can use your own recipe or do like I did. Pour mixture into a 9 inch, deep dish pie crust. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Allow to cool before slicing.
