Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan.

Once the ghee is heated, add the bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, star anise and stir for a minute.

Now add the sliced onion, curry leaves, slit green chillies salt and cook for 2 minutes till the onion becomes soft.

Now add the soaked Basmati rice and cook for a minute.

No add coconut milk and water, add salt, mix well and till all the coconut milk is absorbed and the rice is cooked.

Remove from the stove and serve with curry of your choice.
