Ingredients

  • 1 cupMoth Beans (मठ)
  • 3 tbspoil
  • 2 tbspred chilli powder
  • 1 tbspjeera-coriander powder
  • 1 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tsphing
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 tspjeera
  • Curry leaves (optional)
  • Salt as required
  • Water for soaking and cooking

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Start by washing the moth beans and soaking for 6 to 7 hours or overnight.

    To a pressure cooker, add oil, mustard seeds and jeera. Let them crackle.

    Now strain the moth beans and add them to the cooker.

    Add the red chilli powder, jeera-coriander powder, turmeric powder, hing, salt as per taste and water just 1 cm above the moth beans.

    Cook for about 4 to 5 whistles. Check after the 4th one as some types of moth beans don't take much time to cook.

  6. 6

    Protein packed moth beans sabzi is ready. Serve along with some rotis and with a squeeze of lemon juice for breakfast and enjoy ✨
