If you love hummus and haven’t made it yourself before, you’re in for a treat. This is such a great authentic Lebanese dish, either served as a side or a main. This is best eaten with pita chips or bread. It is very filling!
Steps
- 1
Start by toasting your pine nuts on a medium low heat until just browned slightly.
- 2
Start by adding all hummus ingredients into a high powered blender or food processor with ice cubes. Begin to blend, slowly stream in small amount of olive oil as you go. Check after 2-3 mins for consistency and perhaps blend for another minute for a creamy texture.
- 3
Clean food processor and put all ingredients in for the whipped feta sauce. Blend only until it’s smooth and remove into a bowl into the fridge.
- 4
In a medium high heat, cook the onion until translucent, then brown the beef and add the spice mix. Continue to cook for 5-7 mins and turn off the heat.
- 5
Plate your hummus, then beef and garnish with pine nuts, whipped feta, chickpeas, parsley and salt and pepper. Eat with pita chips or bread. Enjoy.
