One jar
  1. 100 gramscumin seeds
  2. 50 gramsblack peppercorns
  3. 15-20large cardamom pods
  4. 25 gramscinnamon sticks
  5. 10 gramslong pepper
  6. 25 gramscloves
  7. 5 gramsmace
  8. 20 gramsbay leaves
  9. 5star anise
  10. 25 gramsdried ginger powder
  11. 2nutmegs
  12. 20 gramsgreen cardamom pods
  13. 100 gramscoriander seeds (optional)

Steps

    Gather all the spices in one place, then put them in a nonstick pan and roast on low heat.

    When you start to smell the roasted spices, turn off the heat and let them cool.

    Put all the ingredients in a blender jar and grind into a fine powder. Then add the dried ginger powder and blend a couple of times to mix it well with the rest of the garam masala.

    Store the fragrant, pure homemade garam masala in an airtight container and use as needed.
