Neera/Pathaneer is available during summer only. My home town 'Udangudi' from Tuticorin district is famous for making Karuppati/ Palm jaggery. Palm jaggery is made from Neera/Pathaneer. Neera is a sap extracted from the inflorescence of various spices of palms and used as a drink. Neera extraction is generally performed before sunrise. It's a sweet drink and translucent in colour.

  6. 6

It takes 7 to 8 mts to cook. And neera started thickening. You can add more than 100g raw rice too. When we add more, the kheer becomes thickening more and more. When we reduce the amount of 100g rice, kheer would be watery. As per our desired taste,we can add.

  7. 7
