Put the cooked leftover rice in a bowl.

Now add water to the rice, cover it with a lid and let it rest overnight for it to ferment.

Next morning take the fermented rice. Add curd to it and mix well.

Now add sliced onions, chopped green chilli, chopped coriander leaves, salt and mix well.

Now heat mustard oil in a pan.Prepare a tadka by adding mustard seeds, cumin seeds,dry red chillies, asafoedita and curry leaves to the heated mustard oil.Finally pour it on the prepared fermented rice.

Mix everything well.

Pakhala Bhata is ready. Garnish with a lemon slice and serve it with potato bharta.
