Chocolate-Dipped Cherries and Figs

Week 22
This month is peak cherry season. Visiting the farm is a treat, with bright red cherries hanging from the trees. Everyone enjoys picking, tasting, and buying fresh cherries to take home. The price is about the same as at the market, but you get to enjoy the cool shade and have a picnic outdoors.
I brought home a box of cherries and plan to make several dishes. My garden figs are also ripe, so I’m combining them with cherries for chocolate dipping.

Wash the cherries and figs, then dry them completely. Leave the cherry stems on for presentation.

Prepare the lemon zest, grated white chocolate, and dried coconut in separate bowls.

Melt the dark chocolate with a pinch of salt using a double boiler or microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until smooth.

Dip each cherry and fig into the melted chocolate to coat evenly.

Roll or sprinkle each piece with your choice of toppings: lemon zest, dried coconut, or grated white chocolate.

Place on a tray and refrigerate for a few minutes until the chocolate sets. Enjoy!
