Yummy yummy fermented milk maandzi

I got sour milk from a family friend when I visited them upcountry. I had an event the next day so the milk was in my car for two days. When I got home the milk was already too sour such that I feared it wouldn't be fit for consumption were it to go another day.
I decided to to use the milk for the maandazi and it's now the only way like them made.

Steps
- 1
In a blender add the 1½cups of fermented milk, ¾ cup sugar, 2 eggs, a pinch of salt and a table spoon of cooking oil. Mix until smooth.
- 2
Add 1 table spoon of baking powder to 3 cups of all purpose baking flour and 1table spoon of cooking oil then mix it evenly making sure there are no lumps.
- 3
Add your blend to the prepped flour. Then go in with your clean hands
- 4
Cover the mixture and let it sit for ten minutes.
- 5
Divide the dough into medium size round shapes. Roll them out and section into awesome triangle shapes.
- 6
Heat oil in moderate heat and fry the maandazi in convenient bits
- 7
- 8
Serve with your favorite drink. I served mine with spicy chai.
Tips
You can add ½ a table spoon cardamom or the mixed spices used in pastry for a rich savour. Very optional because with or without it they are still heavenly.
