Mulligatawny Soup is an Anglo-Indian dish that originated in India during the British Raj blending traditional Indian flavours with British tastes and ingredients. The name comes from the Tamil words for Pepper water describing it's origins in Indian Pepper Rasam which was modified to suit British preferences thus making it a hybrid Anglo-Indian dish. The name "Mulligatawny" comes from the Tamil words Milagu (Pepper) and Tanni (water) which put together means "Pepper water". The original dish that inspired Mulligatawny Soup is actually Indian Rasam, a zesty Peppery Garlic Consomme.

This iconic Soup is such a delightful one with Lentils, Vegetables, Fruits and Protein making it a great option for any day. It's healthy, delicious and flavourful. A nutritious alternative to junk food any day. And is absolutely the best for Winters. A satisfying and a filling bowl of super tempting and irresistible Soup at your disposal is such a soulful retreat that any one would love to experience. A pure bliss. A beautiful looking one pot dish that is prepared with minimal efforts and time. A perfect family meal and a healthy and a refreshing Dinner idea on any given day. It can be made without meat as well. Both veg and non veg versions are awesome in their own ways.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
