Ingredients

16 pieces
  1. 2 cupstype 1 flour (about 250 grams)
  2. 1/4 cupalmond flour (about 30 grams)
  3. 3 tablespoonsunsweetened cocoa powder (about 20 grams)
  4. 1large egg
  5. 1/3 cupsunflower oil (about 70 grams)
  6. Juice of 2 oranges
  7. 2 tablespoonsdry white wine (such as Pignoletto)
  8. 7medium dates, pitted and chopped
  9. 2 teaspoonsbaking powder (about 8 grams)
  10. Dark chocolate 70% (as needed, for coating)
  11. Almond flour (as needed, for decorating)
  12. Ground cinnamon (as needed)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix the flours, cocoa powder, and baking powder in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Add the egg, oil, orange juice, dates, and wine.

  3. 3

    Knead until you have a smooth dough.

    Shape the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.

    Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.

    Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and cover with melted chocolate.

    Decorate with almond flour and cinnamon.

    Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving. Store in a cookie tin for up to 1 week to keep them fresh and fragrant.
