Ingredients

  1. 400 mlPalm nut extract (banga)
  2. 2 pieces(medium size) Catfish
  3. 1small, chopped Onion
  4. 2tablespoons, ground Crayfish
  5. 1 tablespoonBanga spice
  6. 2Seasoning cubes
  7. 1 teaspoonSalt
  8. 1 teaspoonSpice of choice (e.g., mixed spices,coriander)
  9. 2 tablespoonsFresh pepper (blended)
  10. 200 gPounded yam flour (or starch or eba)
  11. 400 ml(for pounded yam or as needed for starch/eba) Water

Steps

    Pour palm nut extract into a pot and bring to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add chopped onions, ground crayfish, banga spice, seasoning cubes, salt, spice of choice, and blended fresh pepper.

  3. 3

    Stir and simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add catfish and cook until fish is done and soup thickens, about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    For pounded yam, boil water, add yam flour, and stir until smooth. For starch or eba, prepare as usual.

  6. 6

    Serve hot Banga soup with pounded yam, starch, or eba.

Tips

Adjust the amount of fresh pepper to your spice preference.
