Sarciadong Tilapia

Mom is a big fan of fish, especially sarciadong isda (fried fish in tomatoes and eggs), so I decided to try her recipe for the first time to impress her with my cooking skills.

Sarciadong Tilapia 🐟🧄🧅🍅 is a traditional Filipino dish that showcases fried tilapia cooked in a hearty tomato and egg sauce, often referred to as "Tilapia Braised in Sautéed Tomatoes" or "Fried Fish in Tomato Sauce". This dish is a favored method for utilizing leftovers, blending tomatoes, garlic, onions, and beaten eggs to form a delicious topping. Best paired with steamed rice.

My maternal grandfather, a professional photographer, always encouraged family to learn to cook for oneself, but it was one of my aunts, a pianist, who taught me how to steam rice and gifted me my first cookbook. I've merged cooking and photography to showcase dishes that have inspired my kitchen. Grateful to all cooks in theirs. 💙🐇
