🍓 Tender Strawberry Galette with Cottage Cheese Dough

I decided to combine juicy seasonal strawberries with a soft cottage cheese dough, and the result turned out even better than I expected. This galette has a crisp golden crust, a juicy strawberry filling, and a delicate buttery flavor. It's one of my favorite summer bakes and tastes wonderful both warm and chilled.

🍓 Tender Strawberry Galette with Cottage Cheese Dough
I decided to combine juicy seasonal strawberries with a soft cottage cheese dough, and the result turned out even better than I expected. This galette has a crisp golden crust, a juicy strawberry filling, and a delicate buttery flavor. It's one of my favorite summer bakes and tastes wonderful both warm and chilled.

Combine the cottage cheese with the melted butter and mash until smooth.

Add the egg, sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

Add the flour and baking powder, then knead into a soft dough.

Wrap the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Mix the powdered sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl.

Roll the dough out on a sheet of parchment paper to about 3 mm thick. Sprinkle a portion of the powdered sugar and cornstarch mixture onto the center of the dough where the filling will go.

Arrange the sliced strawberries on top and sprinkle with the remaining powdered sugar and cornstarch mixture.

Fold the edges of the dough over the filling. Brush the edges with egg yolk and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

Bake at 180°C (355°F) for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Let the galette cool slightly before serving. It is delicious both warm and cold.
