  • 1 cupwater warm
  • 1/3 cupsugar
  • 3/4 tablespooninstant dry yeast
  • 3 cupsplain flour
  • 1/8 cupvegetable oil
  • 3/4 teaspoonsalt

    Dissolve sugar in the warm water

  2. 2

    Ensure that the water is only just warm, you don't want to kill the yeast

  3. 3

    Add the yeast to the solution. Let it proof. (the yeast will start to look like a creamy foam)

  4. 4

    Now mix in the oil and salt

  5. 5

    Mix in one cup of flour at a time and mix in well

  6. 6

    The final dough will not stick to your hand at all

  7. 7

    Gather the dough together and keep it in a vessel that would allow it to rise at least double the size

  8. 8

    Cover with a thin moist cloth (it should not touch the top of the dough)

  9. 9

    Once it has risen to double the size (usually in 1-1.5 hours when the temperature is pretty warm) punch down the dough once

  10. 10

    Oil the tin in which you intend to bake the bread

  11. 11

    Divide the dough if you need to if you are using multiple pans and place the dough in the tin

  12. 12

    Let it stand and rise for another 30 minutes or till it has risen by at least another half

  13. 13

    Set a stand in your pressure cooker (no water. Completely dry) so that the tin doesn't touch the base of the cooker

  14. 14

    Place the tin on the stand and close the lid (without the weight on the whistle)

  15. 15

    Cook on medium flame for 15 minutes.

  16. 16

    Lower the flame and open the cooker, brush oil on top of the loaf (it would have already risen)

  17. 17

    Close and cook on low flame for 15 minutes.

  18. 18

    You have delicious fresh home made bread, enjoy it with a mayo or spread or marmalade or jam!

And so all my cakes or anything I baked were in pressure cookers!!The food I make is simple and easy, no fancy stuff here :) ( Am still a rookie when it comes to cooking )I love Japanese, Malay and American cuisines. And as much as adore appams and stews and Rice and fish curry. You get the idea!!Enjoy life, Enjoy food and the happy lil' sweet things!!
