Place the chopped apples and sugar in a saucepan and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.

Add the vegetable oil and self-rising flour.

Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.

Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes.
