If you are wondering what to make for breakfast, having that wheat crave, wondering what snack to make for the tea party or simply want a homemade snack which your kids will enjoy, Mandazis are just the treat..
Steps

Sieve all the dry ingredients together, flour, baking powder and sugar in a mixing bowl

Using your fingers, mix the margarine with the dry ingredients until evenly scrumbled

Make a well in the middle and pour the cup of milk.

Mix all the ingredients together using a plastic or wooden spoon till you a achieve a firm dough

Knead the dough in between your palm until smooth and not sticky.

Cover with a damp kitchen cloth or kitchen wrap for 20-30 minutes for the dough to set.

Using a rolling pin on a flat surface, roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness and cut to desired shape. NB: If too thin, the mandazis will be hard

Preheat cooking oil in a deep frying pan

Using a deep frying spoon, deep fry into a golden color on one side then turn to cook the other side. NB: If the oil is too hot, mandazis will quickly turn golden brown without getting cooked on the inside.

Serve hot or cold as desired with milk and fruits for a simple balanced diet breakfast.
