Soak the broad beans overnight.

On the next day, rinse them and boil them in a pot with plenty of water for 15 minutes.

Strain the broad beans and use the same pot to sauté the onion in the oil.

Add the broad beans, the tomato paste dissolved in the stock, the tomato, the sugar, the pepper and the bay leaves.

Mix well and let it cook over medium heat until the broad beans are done (about 45 minutes).
