Crush the onion and garlic together in a mortar and pestle, then marinate the fish fillets with this mixture for about 10 minutes.

In a bowl, combine the flour, egg, ground pepper, and salt. Mix well.

Gradually add the beer, being careful not to add too much. Mix thoroughly, preferably with a whisk, until the batter has the consistency of pancake batter.

Heat enough oil in a pan to deep-fry the fish fillets.

In a small bowl, lightly coat the fillets with flour.

Once the oil is hot, dip each fillet into the batter and fry until golden brown.

Let the fillets drain for a few minutes, then serve.

You can serve them with mayonnaise, ketchup, or hot sauce, according to your preference.
