This is a variation of a very famous Italian pasta recipe - Gnocchi ( Pronounced as NOKI). I did not use Egg and introduced indian flavoured Pasta sauce to suit it to my kids' taste buds. Next time when you kids ask for pasta, cook this and your kids will love it for sure.

Ingredients

  1. 3Potatoes boiled and mashed
  2. 150 gmFlour (Maida)
  3. as per tasteSalt
  4. as per tastePepper powder
  5. 250 gmtomatoes - sweet variety
  6. 2-3Garlic buds
  7. 1/3 cuptomato ketchup
  8. 1/2 tsp sugar
  9. 1 tspmixed italian herbs -
  10. 1 tspvinegar
  11. as per tastered chilli sauce -

Steps

    Take cooled and mashed potato and mix flour, salt, and pepper and make a smooth dough.

    Take the dough and make a long tube of half inch width. press tube and cut squares of 1 inch each. basically, you are creating pasta squares, it should not be too thick or too thin.

    Boil water in a separate pan and boil these squares in boiling water for 4-5 minutes. take out from water and keep aside

  4. 4

    Sauce recipe: Make a puree of tomatoes in a blender. if you like garlic and peel and chop two or three garlic buds. Take a deep dish pan and put one tbsp oil, put garlic and don't let the garlic cook or burn, add tomato puree now in Pan, add tomato ketchup and chili sauce, vinegar, a little salt and cook it for a minute.

    As soon as the raw smell of tomato is gone put your pasta and cook for a minute and two.

    Garnish with Italian herbs and serve.

    My Tip: If you have Maggi masala, mix it in sauce at the end of cooking to give it Indian spicy touch
