cream together butter and sugar until fluffy

add egg, mix well

sift together dry ingredients, add a little at a time to butter mixture

mix until well blended

add carrot, raisins, and nuts. mix thoroughly

drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet

bake at 350°F until golden, about 8 to 10 minutes

cool on rack.
