Ingredients

  1. 1 cupbrown lentils (about 200 grams)
  2. 1 cuplong-grain white rice (about 200 grams)
  3. 4 cupswater (about 950 ml)
  4. 4medium onions
  5. 1 tablespoonsalt
  6. 1chicken bouillon cube
  7. 1 teaspoonblack pepper (optional)
  8. 1 tablespoonolive oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Chop the onions and sauté them.

  2. 2

    Add 1 cup of lentils and 4 cups of water to a pot. Cook until the lentils are tender.

  3. 3

    Add 1 cup of rice, the sautéed onions, chicken bouillon cube, black pepper, and salt.

  4. 4

    Before turning off the heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the dish. The mujadara is now ready to eat.

  5. 5

    Slice the onions and sauté them over heat until they are soft and golden brown.

  6. 6

    Spoon the mujadara onto a plate, top with the sautéed onions, and serve. You can add any type of salad you like. Enjoy!
