When we were younger my uncle used to make us baked chicken and drizzle date syrup on it and it was delicious! This was supposed to be that but I ended up not making the chicken yesterday so I put a little spin on it.

Hope you enjoy :)

Ingredients

  1. 12Drumsticks
  2. 1 tbspSalt
  3. 1 tspBlack pepper
  4. 4 clovecrushed garlic
  5. 2 tbspLemon juice
  6. 3 tbspDate syrup
  7. 3/4 cupBBQ sauce (I used sweet baby rays)
  8. 1 tbspSiracha

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, garlic, and date syrup to chicken in a zip lock bag and marinate for 4+ hours

  2. 2

When ready to cook- Preheat oven to 400°F

  3. 3

Lay chicken - skin side down- on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400°F for about 25-30 mins.

  4. 4

Mix BBQ sauce and Siracha in a small bowl (more or less Siracha depending on how much spice you like)

  5. 5

About 10mins into baking, baste chicken with BBQ mixture. And bake for another 10mins. Flip chicken over and baste with BBQ mixture and finish cooking.

After chicken was finished cooking I broiled the chicken on low for about 5mins just to caramelize a bit more
