Mix Dal vada/lentils vada in South Indian style

Today I have made Mix dal vada using moong dal, chana dal, urad dal, tuar Dal , & small portion of Dalia To make festive time fun-filled and special. These dal vada do not soak up much oil since the ground mixture is made to a tight consistency. These vada can also be offered to the Gods during any puja, just skip the onions & garlic.

Wash and soak Dal in water for 3-4 hours. Drain the water completely from the Dal.

In a mixer, grind the dals into a paste. Do not make it into a fine paste. Chop and crush the Ginger. Add Red chillies, green chillies, onion, garlic paste, salt and Curry leaves finely and add it to the mix. Mix the mixture well.

Roll out small portions of the mixture into lime sized ball. Heat oil in a Kadhai. Deep fry these vada on medium heat until golden brown.

Serve hot with coconut chutney.
