Ingredients

8 servings
  1. Dough
  2. 5 cupAll-purpose flour
  3. 1/2 cupWhite sugar
  4. 2 3/4 tspInstant dry yeast
  5. 3/4 cupSalted Margarine (if using unsalted, add 3/4tsp of salt)
  6. 1 cupFresh milk (room-temperature)
  7. 2 largeEggs (room-temperature)
  8. 1Olive oil
  9. Filling
  10. 1/2 cupMargarine (shredded)
  11. 3/4 cupCheddar cheese (shredded)
  12. 10Or more Bacon strips

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Put together flour, sugar and yeast. Rake in using a fork or whisk to make sure all are combined well.

  2. 2

Soften margarine and add it into the dry mixture.

  3. 3

Pour in the milk then add the eggs one at a time.

  4. 4

Mix everything. Better if you have an electric stand mixer with a dough attachment.

  5. 5

After a few minutes of mixing, the dough should come together and somewhat on the center.

  6. 6

If the dough is still sticky, add more flour.

  7. 7

Grease 2 bowls with olive oil. Divide the dough into two and put each one into the bowls and cover with a cling wrap.

  8. 8

Place the bowls in a warm area and wait for about an hour or so until the doughs have doubled in size.

  9. 9

    Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  10. 10

You may use both doughs or just one. Knead the dough or press it with your hands until it's flat and about or larger than the size of a short bond paper. If your using both doughs, do the same with the filling.

  11. 11

Scatter the margarine, followed by the cheese.

  12. 12

Place the bacon strips horizontally until the dough is filled.

  13. 13

From the bottom, roll the dough upwards. Put some water on the upper edges of the dough just so the roll can be sealed.

  14. 14

Cut the roll into halves and repeat until you have about 8 pieces.

  15. 15

Place the pieces in a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, with the sides facing up.

  16. 16

Bake for about 20 minutes. Once baked, cool for 5-10 minutes then serve and enjoy!
