Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cupOlive oil
  2. 1Garlic (1whole peeled and minced)
  3. 3Jalapeño (green long chilies-sliced diagonally)
  4. 2 tspPimenton (Spanish paprika-sweet)
  5. 1 dashSalt (to taste)
  6. 1/2 kgShrimps (drained and shelled, tails preferably intact)
  7. 1/4 tspBrown sugar

  1. 1

    Heat oil in a non-stick pan and sauté garlic. Add in Jalapeño after 2-3 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add in salt and pimenton, simmer for 2 minutes before adding in the shrimps.

  3. 3

    Wait for the shrimps to cook/to turn orange. Remove shrimps from the sauce and set aside. Simmer and reduce sauce mixture for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Once sauce has reduced, add in sugar and mix well. Simmer for another minute before putting the cooked shrimps back in. Cook for about 2-3 minutes under medium to high heat.

  5. 5

    Serve hot. This is best paired with toasted ciabatta, toasted pita bread or plain rice, whichever you prefer.. :)
