  • 14 ozBag of fresh cranberries
  • 1 2/3 cupRed Zinfandel (1/2 bottle)
  • 1 cupWhite sugar
  • 1 cupBrown sugar
  • 2 eachCinnamon sticks
  • 6 eachCloves - crushed up
  • 1 tspAllspice
  • 1/4 tspNutmeg
  • 1Orange jest ( without white part)

    Put everything in a large pot except cranberries. Bring to a simmer. Stir frequently. Once sugars are disolved let simmer for 12minutes. Strain into a large bowl. Should measure a bit under 2 cups.

  2. 2

    Pour strained liquid back into pot. Add cranberries. They will begin popping like popcorn. Pour the remaining Zinfandel into a wine glass and enjoy while stirring the cranberries occasionally. After 25 or so minutes turn off burner and let cool.
