Sucre à la crème
I got this recipe from my father in law. Merci, Papa!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add sugar and cream to a heavy saucepan. Stir to combine.
- 2
Bring sugar and cream to a boil over high heat. Pay attention to your pan! It will come to a boil quickly and fiercely. Stir every few seconds until a boil is reached.
- 3
Turn element down to medium and continue to stir. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring the whole time. Depending on your stove, you may have to turn your element down a little more.
- 4
After 5 minutes, remove pan from heat. Add vanilla (you can use a different flavour if you wish), stir a few times, and leave to cool.
- 5
After cooling, pour a little in a bowl, either by itself, over some bread, or over cream puffs (my family's favourite!). It's even nice to dip apple slices into once it has reached room temperature.

I've made this for years and always called it crème brûlée.This is just like a rich custard pudding.Since this is rich, I recommend filling up the molds with a little bit of the mixture instead of a lot. When you are using smaller ramekins (6.5 cm diameter), you can make 5 servings. Please use the leftover egg whites for different dishes!! Créme Caramel Créme Caramel
Hi!! The heatwave is finally over, hoorayyyy but we have rain on and off during the day. Our basset hound Charlie, who is now 1 year old, was really having a rough time with the heat last week, as we all did but I did my best to keep him cool with those cool collars. If you have not tried them yet, please do they really work!! He is now running around and enjoying his walks and playing with all the other little doggies…:)When it’s hot I like to make different sorts of desserts that are refrigerated instead of always going for Ice Cream. Not that I don’t love Ice Cream!!! I’mein just saying. So, I made this very easy and enjoyable summer dessert called Cremé Caramelé. I do understand that it is not summer all over the world, but it will be at some point, so keep this dessert in mind as a cool off. Buuuttt you can always make this dessert during the winter time, and enjoy eating it with a nice warm cup of Hot Chocolate or a nice big cup of Cappucino or whatever warm drink you enjoy. Foodzesty -

Crème brûlée, also known as burnt cream, this dessert consists a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel. It is normally served at room temperature but even good when it's chilled. Hebah Shafi -
