Cajun Crab Dip

This is actually my husband's recipe. Our kids beg us to have company so we can fix it. Its addictive... An absolute family favorite.

This crab dip recipe was given to me years ago from a friend. It is still one of my favorites.

Got this awesome recipe from a 4th Grade Cookbook that I got as a Christmas gift. I usually double the ingredients if I am making it to take to a party.

My Aunt would always buy this crab dip from Ultra Foods for gatherings. They don't sell it near me, so I duplicated it from memory based on taste. I was spot on! Enjoy!

This recipe is served one of two ways. A hot and creamy dip on crackers. Or, served as a chilled spread on toasted bagels.I've never had any leftovers with this recipe. What I love most about my dip/spread is that most crab dip recipes employ ingredients that always seem to overpower the crab flavor altogether - this recipe certainly does not. A little different twist on regular crab dip

I decided to make this one day to do a #fridgecleanoutmeal I had beer dip spread & crab dip spread that I needed to use up. I was cleaning out the fridge with this one. Turned out really good.

I came across this recipe for "Hot Vegan Crab Dip" - From "Makeitdairyfree.com" and I just had to try it! 🤤👏 I did not have "dulse flakes" so I substituted nutritional yeast in its place. Although the #dulseflakes are made of dried seaweed and contain iodine which obviously would make them a perfect addition to a vegan "crab" dip. I simply did not have any and wasn't sure where to get any. I also used a lot more cheese than the recipe called for because I am an extra cheese kind of person! 😍👍 Further, I adapted the recipe & used additional items that the recipe did not call for. This could also be made into a cheesy dip that is "not spicy" by simply ommitting the hot sauce. This might seem like an odd combination, but when these flavors come together it really pops. This was a simple yet delectable meal.

I've been making this for years now, and for a twist throw everything into a food processor for a smoother dip. Still just as tasty.

I serve this with my Kickin' Corn Fritters but it is so good with just about anything!

When we lived in California I was able to get bags of fresh artichokes at a farmers market that were very inexpensive. My kids grew up loving them. We also have a jumbo lump crab dip every Christmas which I make with fresh cooked artichoke hearts. It's more work than frozen or canned artichokes and more expensive now that we are not in California but it is such an amazing dip and worth it for special occasions,. I always feeze a container of it for after the holidays!

My friend invited me over for a house party, so I tried to think of some kind of appetizer that I could bring over to have with our drinks. I had some marinated artichokes, so I came up with this.Place any leftover dip into a heatproof dish, top with a bit of pizza cheese, and bake in an oven. Made this for our dinner with friends with stuff I had in the fridge and we all enjoyed it thoroughly!Yes, I used fake crab. No, I'm not sorry. :PYou can prep the mixture 2 to 3 days ahead of time and store, covered, in refrigerator, until ready to bake and serve.
