I took what I liked about several recipies, and made my own. I especially like blending the beans to add more fiber, without having 2 cans of whole beans in the chili.

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbground beef
  2. 1/2onion, chopped
  3. 1 can15.5 oz dark red kidney beans, not drained
  4. 1 can15.5 oz light red kidney beans, not drained
  5. 1 can14 oz diced tomatoes
  6. 1/2, 24oz jar of salsa
  7. 18oz can of tomato sauce
  8. 1 cancorn, drained
  9. 1 envelopechili seasoning mix
  10. brown sugar
  11. salt and pepper
  12. 2 tbspground cumin
  13. 1shredded sharp cheddar, for topping
  14. 1sour cream for topping
  15. garlic powder

Cooking Instructions

    Brown ground beef and onion. Adding salt, pepper and garlic powder. Drain the fat off, and put into crock pot.

    Blend the can of light red kidney beans in a blender until smooth.

  3. 3

    Add all ingredients, (except sour cream and cheese for topping) including blended beans.

  4. 4

    Mix well, and cook in crock pot on low for 8 hours.

    Top with sour cream and cheese as desired. Enjoy!😄
