Pecan Agar

My mum made Agar with Japanese walnuts for New Year's eve and the New year. I like them but it's hard to get here. I tried with pecans instead of walnuts. It turned out really good. I will definitely make this next year too!

My mum made Agar with Japanese walnuts for New Year's eve and the New year. I like them but it's hard to get here. I tried with pecans instead of walnuts. It turned out really good. I will definitely make this next year too!
Steps
- 1
Roast pecans and chop finely. I cooked at 100°C/210°F for 30 mins. I read at 160°/320° for 5 mins is fine.
- 2
Put water in a pan and heat over moderate heat. Pour agar while the water is still cold.
- 3
Cook it continuously stirring until the agar is completely dissolved.
- 4
After the agar is dissolved and boiling, simmer a couple more minutes.
- 5
Add sugar, stevia and salt, mix until dissolved.
- 6
Add pecans and mix well.
- 7
Pour the agar mixture into your dish. Let it cool for 10 mins.
- 8
Put it in the fridge and serve cool :)
