Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupwhite sugar
  • 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  • 1 cupshortening
  • 1 eachegg
  • 1 1/2 cupflour
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 1 1/2 cuprolled oats
  • 1 cupcoconut (leaped)
  • 1 tspvanilla

Steps

  1. 1

    preheat oven to 350°F

  2. 2

    cream well sugar and shortening

  3. 3

    add unbeaten egg and cream again

  4. 4

    sift flour and baking soda

  5. 5

    add to creamed mixture: sifted flour and baking soda, salt, rolled oats, coconut, and vanilla

  6. 6

    roll well

  7. 7

    bake 10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets
