Ingredients

  1. 3 cupuncooked penne pasta
  2. 1 mediumred bell pepper, thinly sliced
  3. 4 mediumgreen onions
  4. 1/4 cupall-purpose flour
  5. 1 tspdijon mustard
  6. 2 1/4 cupmilk
  7. 2 packagesbacon bits
  8. 1 cupshredded sharp cheddar cheese
  9. 1 cupshredded provolone cheese
  10. 1/2 cupshredded guyere cheese
  11. 1/4 cupitalion-style bread crumbs

Steps

  1. 1

    heat oven to 350°F. spray 2quart casserole with cooking spray. cook and drain pasta as directed on package.

  2. 2

    meanwhile in 3_quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter in small bowl. stir bell pepper and onion into butter in saucepan cook and stir one minute. stir in flour salt and pepper and Dijon mustard. stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens, about five minutes. gently stir in bacon and pasta.

    remove from heat,stir in cheeses.stir until melted. pour into casserole. add bread crumbs into melted butter in small bowl. spread over pasta mixture

    bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes until edges are bubbly.
