  1. 3 cupsugar
  2. 3 cupSwans Down Cake Flour
  3. 3 stickButter or Margarine, softened
  4. 2 tsplemon extract/flavor
  5. 3/4 cup7 Up
  6. 5 eacheggs

Steps

    Preheat oven to 375°F

  2. 2

    using a mixer, combine butter and sugar until creamy

  3. 3

    add eggs one at a time

  4. 4

    I always allow the eggs a second to be blended before adding the next

  5. 5

    add flavor alternating with 7 Up

  6. 6

    Meaning add 1tsp of flavor then soda then the other tsp of flavor

  7. 7

    it will look a little loose don't worry flour has to be added still

  8. 8

    add flour one cup at a time being sure to turn down mixer to avoid creating flour cloud

  9. 9

    pour into greased cake pan and bake on center rack for about 1 hr. check with toothpick for doneness

  10. 10

    allow to cool a few minutes before turning over

  11. 11

    add lemon frosting or enjoy without
