Ingredients

  • 1 cupchickpeas
  • 1/2large red onion, chopped
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 tspdried red pepper flakes
  • 4 clovegarlic, chopped
  • 1 tspcumin
  • 1 tspbaking powder
  • 4 tbspflour (can use up to 6 tbsp)
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1chopped tomato for garnish
  • 1diced onion for garnish
  • 1diced green pepper for garnish
  • Tahini sauce
  • Pita bread
  • Dill dip
  • Feta cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Individually process in a food processor: chickpeas, cilantro, onion, and garlic

  2. 2

    Mix together in bowl

  3. 3

    Add salt, red pepper flakes, cumin, and baking powder

  4. 4

    Add flour until you can form dough balls

  5. 5

    Place falafal balls on flat cookie sheet and brush with vegetable oil

  6. 6

    Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through
