Wash and clean the broccoli or cauliflower. Remove any dark spots or damaged leaves. Cut off a large part of the thick stem and discard it.

Bring the salted water to a boil in a deep pot with the lid closed. Once the water is boiling, only then add the cauliflower or broccoli. Close the lid. The boiling will stop. Once the temperature rises again and it starts to boil, turn off the stove and remove the pot from the heat. Let it cool enough in its water and serve with lemon and olive oil. If needed, sprinkle with extra salt.
