Heat oil in a 4 quart saucepan over medium heat. Heat onion, stirring occasionally, until browned, 8 to 9 minutes

Add turkey and cook, breaking up into small bite sized pieces, until cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes

Poor cans of beans, corn, and tomatoes (including their juices) into the pot. Stir occasionally until liquid thickens. About 20 minutes

Add onion, turkey, and other remaining ingredients. Let it sit on low flame for a few hours so it can extract the flavor from the bay leaves.
